Abdulhusain M. Alabuxji, the first predecessor, the visionary and a foresighted individual, was the founder of AMA in the year 1860 in Nagpur. The concern commenced its business with trading activities. Under the wisdom and will power of Hasanali Abdul Hussain, AMA entered into the business of fireworks, gun-powder, and safety fuse in 1930 and became the sole distributor for the same.

Soon after independence, AMA was appointed as a distributor of Nitroglycerine based explosives Manufactured by Indian Explosives Ltd. AMA played an important role in the distribution of explosive and detonators imported then, from Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Yugoslavia. Once again chosen as a distributor of IDL Industries for detonating fuse and explosives at its units set up in Hydrabad and Rourkela.

In the seventies, due to drastic change in the blasting system in mines, quarries, road construction and other developmental work in the country, an acute demand for blasting equipment and instruments was felt. At this juncture, AMA Group from trading stepped into manufacturing (Industrial Explosives Pvt. Ltd.) of portable magazines of different capacities to overcome the constraint of procurement of land for putting up magazines for storing explosives and detonators. IEPL later diversified into manufacturing of blasting equipment such as exploders of different capacities, ohmmeter, ANFO mixing and loading equipment, explosive van, crimper, explosives cutting knives, pricker, etc. IEPL has been the first in introducing many blasting equipments and has won award for their innovation and design.

With the liberalization of the industrial policy, yet another company was floated under the banner of Maimoon Enterprises and Consultants (MEC) to manufacture explosives near Nagpur in 1996; Later named as AMA Industries Pvt. Ltd.

AMA Group mission has been to consolidate and expand which it has done by diversifying into the manufacture of Aluminium sections and M.S. wires of different sizes. The challenge of AMA's mission has been to capitalize on its strengths and overcome its weaknesses.

AMA Group has been striving at their best in providing innovative and instant services to their customers for developmental activities of our nation for the past 141 years and will continue their endeavor towards a better tomorrow.
